Lathan Moore......has
been singing since the age of four. Growing up in a small coal mining community
where his father worked the mines for 35 years gave Lathan an appreciation for
hard work and perseverance. After graduating from Harrisburg High School in
2001, Lathan joined a country Gospel Quartet called “Eastern Sky” to sing
baritone and toured for two years throughout the Mid- East and Ohio Valley.
Lathan also was a member of the Reliance Quartet from Paducah, Kentucky, where
he sang lead. Lathan attended Southeastern Illinois Junior College on a Music
Scholarship in 2001
Lathan was very active in the theater and performing arts and played the lead
roles in “Phantom of the Opera,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “My Fair Lady,”
“Annie,” “The Grinch,” “Annie Get your Gun” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum.” Shortly after opening for the Gaither Vocal Band, Lathan was
awarded a Musical/Theater Scholarship from Wayland Baptist University in
Plainview, Texas. While in Texas, Lathan performed with several local musicians
and continued to develop his interest in country music. After completing a year
of college, Lathan returned to Harrisburg, IL to work in the mines in order to
save enough money to move to Nashville, Tennessee so he could pursue his career
as a country music singer.
